Small Groups help us to know God in a more personal way along with others who are on the same journey, give us a plan for our walk with Christ, and unite our strengths for Christian service. They maximize opportunities for four key ingredients of church life:

FOUR INGREDIENTS OF CHURCH LIFE:

LOVE:

Express care for each other, form Christian friendships, and pray for one another.

LEARN:

The team applies the Bible to everyday life.

DECIDE:

The team chooses its own schedule, place to meet, and plans for prayer, study and action.

SERVE:

We express our growing faith and love beyond our team. For example, visitation to persons who are ill or homebound, collecting relief supplies, home repair for a family in need, service to the church, etc.

GETTING INVOLVED:

We encourage everyone to get involved in a small group experience, either by joining an existing group, starting another section of an existing group or proposing a new group that supports the Arise mission and objectives. To join or expand an existing group, please contact the leader or Steve Cary, Administrative Assistant. To propose a new group, please fill out the Request to Start a New L.I.F.E. Team form and give to Steve or Pastor Don.

ARISE MEN'S GROUPS:

Arise men meet once a month on Saturday morning for breakfast, prayer, fellowship and other activities, as decided by the group.

CANCER SUPPORT:

This is a support group for people of all ages and all cancer diagnoses. Friends, family and caregivers may attend for purposes of supporting the person with cancer. Information, resources, and sharing occur in the group. Meetings are held at the church on the first Tuesday of each month from 7 PM to 8 PM. Contact person: Diane Gould R.N., (734) 665-8997.

CARING MINISTRY:

This group mobilizes a loving response to those in grief, isolation, sickness, or other needs through cards, phone calls, visits, meals (including funeral luncheons) and special outreach projects. Coaches: Diane Gould and Evva Funk.

DOG PARK TEAM:

This team oversees the upkeep, maintenance and all matters involved in providing the use of the dog park to our community.

"ONE" L.I.F.E. Team:

The name makes it simple to remember the vital information: This group meets on the FIRST Sunday of the month at 1:00 P.M. to learn more about the ONE. They begin with a potluck meal, which usually has a theme. The group then watches videos or other Christian study material, answers discussion questions, shares their thoughts and fellowship together

PRAYER TEAM:

This is a weekly group who gathers to spend time in prayer for those in need. They usually meet at the church on Wednesday mornings.

THREADS OF FAITH:

This group meets on periodic Monday afternoons to create items for others using the needle arts, such as sewing, crochet and knitting. Projects vary, including prayer shawls, wall quilts, women's chemotherapy hats, and sweaters for children overseas.

MARRIAGE/PARENT LIFE GROUP:

A monthly, informal gathering of couples/parents who seek non-judgemental fellowship, support, and guidance in strengthening marriages and raising kids in the Christian Faith. Typically, we meet at one's house for a pot-luck meal and share and discuss the needs that face the group that month. Sometimes, we study a book of our choosing but it's really up to those who attend the group of its direction. Children are welcome! Please email carrie@germain.us if you are interested in attending.
